Harith b. Malik – I went to Mecca and met Saad b. Abi Waqqas, I asked him – Did you hear any praise of Ali? Saad said – We were sitting with the Prophet (s.a.w.a.) when it was said that all those sitting should leave except Aal-e-Nabi and Aal-e-ali, so we went out. Next day his uncle met him (s.a.w.a.) and said – O Prophet! You sent your uncles and companions and left this boy. Prophet (s.a.w.a.) said – I did not send you out nor let this boy in, but Allah did so.
Qatar narrates from Abdullah b. Shoraik from Abdullah b. Arqam from Saad that Abbas asked the Prophet (s.a.w.a.) – you closed all the doors except that of Ali? So he (s.a.w.a.) said – I did not open nor did I close (rather it was Allah who ordered me).
