Jabir Ibn Abdillah – the first visitor of Imam Husain (a.s.) while performing the ziyarat addresses the martyrs of Karbala:
By the One who raised Muhammad (s.a.w.a.), certainly we are party to everything that you achieved (in the battle).

Atiya, Jabir’s companion, asked:
O Jabir, how can you claim so while we never descended in a valley nor scaled a mountain nor drew our swords. While the martyrs had their heads severed from their bodies, their children were orphaned and their wives were widowed?

Jabir:
I heard my beloved Prophet (s.a.w.a.) say – One who loves a nation will be raised with them and one who loves actions of a nation is a party to those actions.

And by the One who raised Muhammad (s.a.w.a.) as a Prophet, my intention and intention of my companions is to be with Husain (a.s.) and his companions in whatever transpired with them.
