• Khurshid favours registration of wakf properties

    Amid reports of encroachments of a large number of wakf properties in the country, Minority Affairs Minister Salman Khurshid on Wednesday favoured registration of such properties to resolve the issue. "We want to put an end to the sale of property (of Wakfs) because sale is being misused. We want regsitrations of wakf properties so that a record can be kept. If people have a problem to it, we are willing to talk," Khurshid said.

The Chain of Narrators of Hadis-e-Kisaa (Tradition of the Cloak)

The ‘Hadis-e-Kisaa’ is among the most authentic realities, which none can deny except the one who is ignorant and unaware of Islamic knowledge and truths

A tradition can be considered as feigned when:

  1. Its mention is not available anywhere in the vast wealth of Islamic sources and knowledge.
  2. It has not been verified or rather rejected by the traditionalists, researchers and scholars of Rejaal ( study of chain of narrators of traditions)
  3. Its meanings are in direct contrast to the fundamentals of Islamic and Quranic concepts.

On the other hand, if it has been mentioned in Islamic sources and its chain of narrators has been verified by the traditionalists, researchers and scholars of Rejaal, then there remains no excuse for doubting its veracity except that such doubts are created due to animosity and with a sinister aim and purpose.

In this context, we present the chain of narrators of the tradition famous as ‘Hadis-e-Kisaa’ so as to dispel any doubts about its veracity.

Shaikh Abdullah Bahrani the author of “Awaalim al-Uloom” writes:

“ I have seen in the blessed writings of the respected scholar Sayyed Hashim Bahrani that he narrated from the majestic researcher Sayyed Majid Bahrani from Shaikh Hasan Ibn Zainuddin (famous as) Shaheed-e-Saani from Shaikh Muqaddas-e-Ardebeeli from Shaikh Ali Ibn Abdul Ali Karki from Shaikh Ali Ibn Hilal Jazaaeri from Shaikh Ahmed Ibn Fahd-e-Hilli from Shaikh Ali Ibn Khaazin Haaeri from Shaikh Ziauddin Ali Ibn Shaheed-e-Awwal from his father (Shaheed-e-Awwal) from Fakhrul Muhaqqeqeen (the son of Allamah Hilli) from his respected father Allamah Hilli from Shaikh Al Muhaqqiq from Shaikh Ibn Numa Hilli from Shaikh Mohammad Ibn Idris Hilli from Ibn Hamzah-e-Tusi, the author of “ Al-Saaqib Fi al-Manaaqib”, from Shaikh Mohammad Ibn Shahr-e-Aashoob from Shaikh Tabarsi –the author of “Al Ehtejaaj”-  from Shaikh Hasan Ibn Qummi Ibn Hasan Tusi from his father Shaikh Tusi from Shaikh Mufeed from Shaikh Ibn Qolwayh Qummi from Shaikh Kulaini from Ali Ibn Ibrahim from his father Ibrahim Ibn Haashim from Ahmed Ibn Abi Nasr Al Bazanti from Qasim Ibn Yahya Jalaal Kufi from Abu Baseer from Abaan Ibn Taghlib Bakri from Jaabir Ibn Yazid e Jo’fi from Jaabir Ibn Abdillah Ansari (may the mercy and blessings of Allah be upon them all) who said that he heard from Fatima Zahra(s.a.), the daughter of the Holy Prophet(s.a.w.a.),  who said that ……( the tradition begins)

Additionally, it has been recorded in “Ehqaaq al-Haqq”, vol.2, p. 555, where it is taken from “Awaalem al-Uloom” manuscript of Sulimaniyyah Library. This tradition has been mentioned by the extremely knowledgeable traditionalist Shaikh Fakhruddin Turaihi, the author of “Majma’ al-Bahrain” in his selected collections “Muntakhabiyyah”, p. 259. The author of the book “ Musnad-e-Fatima Zahra(s.a.)”, Sayyed Husain Shaikhul Islami  mentions that he has seen its original copy complete with its chain of narrators in the hands of his father  sent to him Ayatullah Sayyed Shahbuddin al Marashi Najafi (r.a.). This tradition has been mentioned by the great scholar Al-Haaj Shaikh Mohammad Taqi Ibn Al-Haaj Shaikh Mohammad Baqir Yazdi Al Bafqi in his Journal, by Allamah Dailami in his book “Al-Ghorar wa al-Dorar” as well as by the notable scholar and treasurer of the shrine of Shah Abdul Azeem al-Hasani, Shaikh Mohammad Javaad al-Raazi in his book “Noor al-Aafaaq”, vol.2, published in Tehran.

The great littérateur Shaikh Husain Ali Aale Shaikh Sulaiman Beladi Bahrani says that this tradition famous as Hadis e Kisaa has been converted into poetry form (Arabic) by the majestic Sayyed, Mohammad Ibn Allamah Sayyed Mahdi Qazvini Hilli Najafi (r.a.)

Modarrese Isfahani has presented Hadis-e-Kisaa as a Persian poem. Researchers and those interested may add to their knowledge by referring to the book “Fatima Zahra –Suroor-e-Dil-e-Payamber” by Ahmed Rahmani Hamdani for both the Arabic as well as Persian versions of this poetry.

May Allah keep all of us steadfast upon the love and mastership of those who are mentioned in Hadis e Kisaa and may He hasten the reappearance of the last among them, the master of bounties Imam Mahdi (a.t.f.s.)!
